First Round-NBA Playoffs-Battle for the 2nd round-My Opinion
As per usual this year's playoffs have some familiar faces with Lebron James and his Cavs, Steve Kerr heading the Golden State Warriors and Coach Pop with the Spurs. But for the first time in 7 years, the Memphis Grizzlies didn’t make the cut and neither did the Clippers for the first time in 6 years.
The western conference always proves themselves to be the toughest in the league but this year they have potential competition within the East. I see great potential in Toronto and honestly would love to see them make it to the finals and represent the East. The Raptors are tied 2-2 with the Wizards with the next game being in Toronto. Cleveland is actually tied right now as well with the Pacers, and I would LOVE to see the Cavs lose, not from any hate but I honestly don’t want to see a repeat of the past couple of years with the Cavs and the Warriors. I thought I would see more from Boston but they sit tied with the Bucks, so its anyone’s game. It looks like Philly might just take Miami as they are 3-1, and it’s their first time in the playoffs since 2012. I see a fight in them to make it to the 2nd round but not further than that.
Now, on to the West. The one team that is already guaranteed in the 2nd round is one of my favorite teams, The New Orleans Pelicans! They swept Portland and I'm looking forward to a hopeful San Anton vs. Nola series. However, the Spurs are down 2 games against Golden State right now. With the loss of his wife, Greg Popovich, could either fall with his team or completely come back and use his loss as a strength and beat the Warriors. James Harden’s Rockets are up 1 game to Minnesota with hopes of making it to the finals and Utah has one up on OKC.
